    Great News!

Wednesday, November 26, 2008, 11:41 AM CST [General]

I have so much good news to share!

I have fallen in love! ( I met him at the MN Ren. Faire on Sunday Sept. 14th.  We chatted for hours while staying out of the rain.  We were fast friends and have since fallen deeply in love.  Jonathan and I have been having a wonderful couple months even though all the stress and changes that have been surrounding us.)

I am opening my own daycare! (Yippy!  This has been a dream of mine for quite some time and I have finally found the strength and determination to go for it rather than pushing it to the back of my mind and doing something else.  Everyone around me is very supportive and that has been very helpful.)

I have found a house to buy in Duluth, MN! (I grew up in Superior and though I have had fun living in the cities and in St. Cloud I love the Duluth/Superior area.  I am very much looking forward to moving up there again.  I will be closing on my house soon and moving by Christmas!)

I haven't gone completely broke buying the house! (Not sure how this has happened but it's true enough.  I'll probably go broke within the first couple months after moving though since I'll be getting the business started up.)

    Celebrate! (I have been:)

    Saturday at MRF

Monday, September 22, 2008, 02:07 PM CST [General]

I had a blast on Saturday!  I brought my mom, step-dad, step-uncle, and two new friends along with me to the faire.  We saw a few shows together and spilt up for shopping ventures.  I walked the parade for Wenches At Work and wore one of their costumes for the first part of the day.  Then I went out to the car and changed into my Princess Eleanor costume and spent the rest of the day unable to bend, unable to laugh to hard, and unable to stand back up without help.  It was so much fun!  :)  I love wearing that costume.  The only down side was when other people at the fair would step on the edge of my dress but Jonathan and Ben (my two new friends) helped out with that by walking close enough to keep others from coming to close.  At the faire I found my good friend Mad Jack Wolfe and had great fun climbing through a window to sit down in Mac's pub for a spell and talk with him.  It was an adventure to get back out too :)  yet going through the window was easier than through the main door because of the crowd.  My parents didn't want to climb through the window so they wandered off to buy some stuff.  After faire Ben played us some lovely harp music as a thank you for picking him up.  He's a great musician and maybe someday we'll get him playing out at faire :)

    MNRF First Two Weekends

Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 05:56 PM CST [General]

I had a blast the past couple weekends :)  I was offered a job there at Wenches at Work.  I think its great to be able to get in, work an hour or two and then play the rest of the day.  I should have thought of finding this kinda work years ago!

The Danger Committee is hilarious this year!  I am still recovering from sore abs and cheeks from laughing so hard this past weekend :)  I also got to meet Jason's son who is only 3 weeks old.  He was so cute!  :)  I love babies!

I also saw a cousin there completely by surprise!  I saw her as I walked the parade of Wenches at Work and found her later as she was heading home.

I saw my good friend Mad Jack there too and got my hugs and giggles :)

Now I'm back to the real world and looking for work so that I can make it through the next year as I plan my daycare out.

    A fruitful search

Tuesday, July 15, 2008, 06:35 AM CST [General]

My Dad and I spent this past weekend delving into our family history.  We set out to discover anything we could about my great-great-grandparents following the McCormick line backward.  Dad had found where they were buried so we started there and also found my great-great-great-grandfather buried there as well.  We also found some information about what farms they owned in South Dakota and Minnesota.  Dad and I also toured the town my great-grandparents lived in and he showed me the house he was born in.  The house used to be the small town hospital and is now a bed and breakfast.  He thinks its awesome that he could one day sleep in the house he was born in, though there is a chance he was actually born a few blocks away in a house that used to be a clinic.  He is going to write a book about his great-grandparents and we found a wealth of information for him this weekend.  We also had a great time camping out and improvising when we discovered we had forgotten things like pillows and cooking utensils.
